Zoic Studios - written as ZOIC - is a special effects company based in Culver City, California which primarily deals with computer generated special effects for movies and television. Zoic is a Greek word meaning "life". ZOIC has created effects for such popular shows as CSI, CSI: Miami, Firefly (which earned the team an Emmy), Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel as well as the reimagined Battlestar Galactica. They have also done production on numerous feature films, including Spider-Man 2, The Day After Tomorrow and Serenity, and also computer video games and effects for television commercials.
