Ziv Television Programs, Inc. was an American television syndication and production company, producer of popular syndicated TV programs in the 1950s.
History The company was founded by Frederick Ziv in 1948 and was a subsidiary of his successful radio syndication business. In 1960 the company was purchased by United Artists and merged with UA's own television company. In 1962, the company became United Artists Television, which later merged with MGM. Today, all of the rights to Ziv's TV shows are owned by Sony Pictures Television. Ziv International In the late-1970s and early-1980s, Americanised versions of Japanese anime series Captain Harlock, Flower Angel, and Candy Candy (among other series) were distributed by a company called Ziv International; however, its connection with the original Ziv (or its United Artists or MGM successors) is unknown.
