Zinester is underground culture lingo for someone who makes a zine. In general, zinesters have the freedom to express themselves in writing however they wish since they are completely free of any editor or publisher, in particular corporate publishers. They consider themselves to be the most independent and grassroots-oriented type of writer. A Reader's Guide to the Underground Press is a preeminent publication which supports zinesters, reviews their zines, and disseminates their writings. Well-known zinesters include Aaron Cometbus and the Urban Hermitt as well as the members of the Underground Literary Alliance.
