The purpose of this page is to teach you how to edit pages with Yawiki Editor.
Getting Started The first thing you need to realize is that Yawiki Editor requires Java. Both Yawiki Client, and Server are both 100% java. The editor is launched via a JNLP file. The JNLP file is a special file extension that will work when you have Java correctly installed on your machine. This file will launch the application. If the editor opens at a page called Null, you should upgrade your Java. Familiarize yourself with the syntax. If you do not already have it, please get it before proceeding: ![]() Installing When you begin installing you should see a dialog which looks like this: After it has loaded, you will see the following screen: The next step is to click RUN. The system will then proceed to load the various modules. After the system has loaded, you will see the following editor. This is our light weight yawiki editor. You can use the load button to load a particular page. If you wanted to edit the article 'Apple' you would type Apple into the text box, and then click load. Wait a moment while the system accesses the file. You are then ready to edit! Uninstalling There are no files to uninstall, however the system will load a special loader onto your PC that will enable faster editing in the future. If you do not wish to have this loader, please goto Manually Editing If you wish, you can manually edit. Simply download and run signed.jar - This requires Java to be installed. System Requirements Hardware Requirements Trouble Shooting Caching Errors If your ISP caches your files, you will may experience difficulties launching. Although it is not a requirement, we advise that you have caching turned off for editing. Security Errors Depending on your system configuration, you could possibly experience problems with popup blockers. Disabling popup blockers will typically solve this problem. | ||||||||
