The West London Tram is a proposed on-street light rail line running along the Uxbridge Road corridor in West London. The scheme is designed to provide higher public transport capacity along what is already a busy bus corridor. It would run between Uxbridge and Shepherd's Bush, serving Hillingdon, Southall, Hanwell, Ealing and Acton en route, and would completely replace the equivalent 207 and 427 local bus routes, and the 607 express route. It is also to serve Brunel University. If the route were constructed it would revive a tram route established in 1904 and which was replaced by a trolleybus - number 607 - which was then replaced by the present bus routes. Meanwhile Trolley Buses for West London is advocating for the best public transport solution along the Uxbridge Road corridor. They argue that logic indicates the best choice is once again trolley buses.
