Wang Guangya (王光亚) (b. 1950) is a Chinese diplomat who is China's Vice Minister of foreign affairs and permanent representative of the People's Republic of China to the United Nations.Wang was also President of the UN Security Council for the month of February 2004, He is a graduate of Johns Hopkins University.• According to a recent profile of Wang in the New York Times Magazine, he is considered the top contender for the post of Minister of Foreign Affairs in Beijing when its current occupant retires in 2007*.
