is the antagonist in the video game . She is the "Sorceress of Shadows", and possesses the ability to possess people (including Impa, , and ). Once taking control of Nayru, she traveled back in time to alter history. When Nayru was freed, Veran managed to take control of Queen Ambi and fled to the newly built Black Tower. In the final battle with Link, Veran transformed into her true form: fairy-like being. After a series of metamorphoses, she was eventually defeated (though not before she lit the Flame of Sorrow, one of the three flames needed by Twinrova to revive Ganon).
Appearance Veran appears as a sexy and voluptuous, teal-skinned human female. When in control of another, her host's skin is altered to the same teal. (Although in certain artworks this is not necessarily true) When not in possession of a host, but not in a physical form, she appears as a large, flaming black essence with glowing eyes. She apparently has very potent shape-shifting powers as well. She is skilled in using magic, and is able to give her hosts her own abilities during possession. She transforms into a giant fairy-like creature and later alternates between the forms of a giant turtle, hornet, and spider (all of them bearing her face). See also | ||||||||
