    A vasopressor is a drug used to constrict the arteries and increase blood pressure. These agents include dobutamine, dopamine, epinephrine, isoproterenol, norepinephrine, phenylephrine and ephedrine. They are most commonly used in intensive-care and post-operative hospital settings for patients with critical hypotension (low blood pressure).
