In the fictional Star Trek universe, the USS Enterprise (NCC-1701-E) (or Enterprise-E) is a ''Sovereign'' class starship that is the primary setting in the films Star Trek: First Contact, Star Trek: Insurrection, and Star Trek: Nemesis. In Star Trek, it is the sixth starship commissioned since the Federation's founding to carry the name Enterprise.

This vessel launched in 2372 from San Francisco Fleet Yards under the command of Captain Jean-Luc Picard, one year after the ''Enterprise''-D's destruction (Generations).

In 2373, the Enterprises arrival at the Battle of Sector 001 helps lead to the invading Borg cube's destruction. When the cube is destroyed, it launches an auxiliary ship that travels back in time to try to prevent Zefram Cochrane's historic warp flight and first contact with Vulcans. The Enterprise follows it and is partially assimilated in the ensuing conflict. Nevertheless, the crew's mission is successful and the ship is repaired (First Contact). In 2375, the ship's crew prevents a Son'a attempt to forcefully relocated the Ba'ku people from their homeworld (Insurrection). Four years later, the Enterprise is seriously damaged while stopping Shinzon from using a weapon of mass destruction to destroy life on Earth. The ship returns to spacedock to undergo extensive repairs (Nemesis).

According to designer John Eaves, the Enterprise-E is capable of saucer separation. Although this has not been depicted on screen, Eaves' blueprints indicate that the ship has this capability.*
