History
Tellme was founded in 1999 by current CEO Mike McCue. In 2000, Tellme launched one of the world's first internet platforms to deliver content to telephones - a concept frequently called voice portals. Early competitors included BeVocal, Hey Anita and Quack.com which was acquired by America Online to power its competing service AOL By Phone.
