In telecommunication, teleconference is the live exchange of information among persons and machines remote from one another but linked by a telecommunications system.
Note: The telecommunications system may support the teleconference by providing audio, video, and data services by one or more means, such as telephone, telegraph, teletype, radio, and television.

The term teleconferencing also refers to the act of drinking alone while in the company of drinking friends or acquaintances via telephone or other long distance communication media.
