Technical crew, or tech crew as it is often abbreviated to, are the behind the scenes (or backstage) men and women who control the running of a show, concert, play, musical, or other event that requires technology to be used.

What entails a tech crew can change depending on the event. For example, during film or video production, the technical crew consists of camera, lighting, sound and scenery. In theatre, tech crew can consist of sound, lights, run, flies, costumes, and props crew, as well as other more specific areas, depending on the show. Each crew has their own job that pertains to their area of expertise; sound crew handles all sound effects and microphone changes, while run crew handles any set pieces that must be moved or changed.
