Swarthmore is a station along the SEPTA R3 line, the former Pennsylvania West Chester Line. It is located on Chester Road between downtown Swarthmore and the edge of the Swarthmore College campus (2 South Chester Road (Chester Road & Park Avenue) Swarthmore, PA 19081). Dollar-a-day parking and permit parking are available. It is the first zone 3 station outward bound from central Philadelphia stations. The fare to and from Central City Philadelphia is currently $3.75, and an additional surcharge is assessed for those who buy a ticket on the train while the ticket booth is open.
The ticket office is located on the outbound side of the tracks, within a building used otherwise by Swarthmore College. The building formerly held a cafe, the Jumping Cow.
