St. Andrew's Episcopal School in Austin, TX is a 1st-12th grade college preperatory school centered around the Episcopal denomination of Christianity, though there is a significant Buddhist population totaling approxamentaly one (1) students. It was established in 1952 by a combination of lay and ordained central Texas Episcopalians with the intent of creating a safe and open-minded environment in which young people could learn and prepare for their future. St. Andrew's is currently headed by Lucy Nazro.
There are two campuses that comprise the whole of St. Andrew's. There is a Lower and Middle school campus on 31st street and an Upper school campus on Southwest Parkway. Most recently, the school expansion board has completed the construction of a new middle school building on the lower campus, the first with two stories. The school had been expanding too quickly for the current structures, so the new building was a much needed expansion.
