SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom is a video game for the Game Boy Advance, GameCube, PC, PlayStation 2, and Xbox consoles that is based on the television show SpongeBob SquarePants. The player attempts to defend Bikini Bottom from an invasion of robots created by Plankton (with a machine called the Duplicatotron 3000), who has lost control of them. The playable characters are SpongeBob, Patrick, and Sandy. However, for the PC version, the game is a series of minigames.
Plot Beginning Plankton creates an army of robots but forgets to switch the Duplicatron'ns "Obey Plankton" Switch And The robots subsequently kick Plankton out of the Chum Bucket. Meanwhile, SpongeBob and Patrick are playing a game of robots and racehorses. SpongeBob wishes that they had real robots to play with. The next morning, SpongeBob discovers that the entire town has been trashed by an army of robots. To defeat these robots, SpongeBob, Patrick, and Sandy have to collect golden spatulas, which allow them to advance to different parts of town and eventually enter the Chum Bucket. SpongeBob is armed with the Bubble Wand for mêlée attacks, and the Cruise Bubble and the Bubble Bowl for ranged attacks. He also has the Bubble Bash to attack robots and tikis in the air. Sandy has the Lasso, for ranged attacks, which can also be used to glide and swing from hooks, karate chop, and karate kick. Patrick has the ability to pick up and throw things, including tikis (some of which explode), Freeze Fruit and Throw Fruit, and he can also do a body slam. Some areas are: Bikini Bottom (acts as a central hub), Goo Lagoon, Rock Bottom, Jellyfish Fields, and the Chum Bucket. This game is also the introduction to a new character, Prawn. In additon to the several regular robots that litter the levels, SpongeBob and friends will defeat four boss robots along the way: Robo-Sandy, Robo-Patrick, Robo-SpongeBob, and Robo-Plankton. Along the way, they will tangle with three semi-bosses: King Jellyfish, Prawn, and the Flying Dutchman. Ending Spongebob enters Plankon's lab to discover the leader of the robot army is a very small robot Plankton. He plans to wipe out the Earth using a giant robot Sponge, possibly more powerful than Robo-Patrick and Robo-Sandy combined. But, when Spongebob Steelpants sees Spongebob, he goes berserk and swallows him and Robo-Plankton. Inside their, Spongebob chases Robo-Plankton threw the robotic body. Meanwhile, Patrick and Sandy are fighting Steelpants. Spongebob bites off Robo-Plankton's antenna making him blow up. He then reaches the brain (power core) and fights it. After he defeats it, the scene goes back to where we see Steelpants giving Patrick a wedgie and trapping Sandy in a bag and pouding it on the ground when Steelpants starts to run around through the city, also destroying the Chum Bucket and crashes into things. The robot breaks apart into a bunch of Robo-Plankton that are stomped on by the townpeople. Spongebob, Snady, Patrick, and all the people that Spongebob helped are seen partying in the Mermalair. Meanwhile, Plankton is seen screaming and hitting his head on the ground because his base has been destroyed.
