In the Star Trek fictional universe, Lieutenant Junior Grade Richard Castillo, played by Christopher McDonald in Star Trek: The Next Generation's "Yesterday's Enterprise", is the helmsman and, eventually, commanding officer of the starship USS ''Enterprise''-C.

The Enterprise-C entered into battle against four Romulan warbirds to defend the Klingon's Narendra III outpost. During the fighting, the Enterprise-C is transported to an alternate future in which the Klingon Empire and the United Federation of Planets are at war. The ship's crew encounters their successor vessel, the ''Enterprise''-D. Castillo becomes friends with and falls for that ship's tactical officer, Lieutenant Tasha Yar, as she tries to acclimate him to life in the 24th century.

However, the Enterprise-D's commanding officer, Captain Jean-Luc Picard, becomes convinced that the Enterprise-C's destruction while defending Narendra III from a Romulan attack could have prevented the Federation-Klingon war; he orders the Enterprise-C's return through the temporal disturbance that brought them to the future. When the Enterprise-C's commanding officer, Captain Rachel Garrett, is killed by a Klingon attack, Castillo assumes command and leads his ship back in time.

Although there were survivors of the Enterprise-C's destruction (TNG: "Redemption, Part II"), it is unknown whether Castillo was among them.
