Powerful Women of Wrestling, AKA POWW, is a defunct pro wrestling promotion based out of Indianapolis, Indiana founded in 1987 by David McLane, founder of Gorgeous Ladies Of Wrestling and Women of Wrestling.
POWW was similar in style to GLOW in that McLane used many of the same performers playing slightly different characters. Most of the performers were actresses or porn stars hoping to get into show business through sexy wrestling. McLane hoped POWW could make a women's wrestling league taken seriously. However, it ultimately failed, largely due to execution and lack of funds, and shortly into the second season the show was over.
