| [Edit]
Pleurosaurus is an extinct genus of diapsid reptile belonging to the sphenodont order. It was about 60 cm (2 ft) long.
Unlike its terrestrial relatives, Pleurosaurus was aquatic, having developed a very elongated body which made it very streamlined. However, this was its only adaptation to an aquatic life. Pleurosauruss limbs were shorter than those of its relatives.
