Palos de la Frontera or Palos (formerly also called Palos de Moguer, although this was a misnomer) is a town and municipality located in the southwestern Spanish province of Huelva, in the autonomous community of Andalusia. It is situated some 13 km from the provincial capital, Huelva. According to the 2005 census, the city has a population of 8,181 inhabitants.
Columbus' ships sailed from this town to discover the Americas, in 1492.
There's a station in the Madrid Metro named after this town.
