Otter Creek is one of the major streams located in the state of Vermont. It runs northward from the southwest of the state and eventually empties into Lake Champlain at Ferrisburg. It is the primary stream running through Rutland County and Addison County. Because it called a creek, the unusual situation of rivers emptying into a creek occurs several times along its length.
