In the 1999 Kargil Conflict between India and Pakistan, Operation Vijay (Victory in Hindi) was the name of the successful Indian operation to push back the infiltrators from the Kargil Sector. ---- Operation Vijay was also the name given to the liberation of Goa and Daman and Diu from the Portuguese in 1961.
