ʍMany new services allow users to rent video games online. The video games are sent through the mail, and returned in the same manner.
Services that allow users to rent video games via the internet popped up soon after Netflix began renting DVDs in the same manner. Because next-gen game systems use optical discs, like DVDs or CD-ROMs to hold video games, the same "technology" is used for renting video games by mail as is used for DVDs.

Like Netflix, you put the video games you want to rent into a queue, and each game is sent out when the previous one is returned, provided the game is available at that time. If the game is not available, the next game is sent out.

Unlike video rental B&M stores, there are no due dates and no late fees.

Most video game by mail rental services charge about $20 a month for plans that allow two games out at once. Once one game is received, the next game is shipped out. Some offer single game plans at around $15 a month, 3 games for $25-30, and $35 for unlimited games.

Some services offer DVD rentals as well. Others let you donate games to make money whenever they are rented out.

As prices are about the same for most services, the deciding factors for a service include:
      location
      size of library
      customer service
      free trial
      price
      types of plans
