The Ometo language is an African language from the group of Omotic languages, spoken mostly in southwestern Ethiopia in the Southern Nations, Nationalities and Peoples Region. Lionel Bender (2000) divides it further into the following languages. Including all these variants, Ometo is spoken by approximately 2.8 million people (1998 census).
