This article is about minor vehicles in the fictional Star Wars universe. For a list of vehicles and vessels from Star Wars see . Armoured Hover Train The armoured hover train is, as the name suggests, a long train of armoured carriages that run along what is apparently a maglev track. It appears in the Nintendo 64 & PC computer game Star Wars: Rogue Squadron, on the spice-mine asteroid Kessel, and is used to transport prisoners and cargo across the planetoid. There are three discernible carriage types on the Kessel train: a cargo carriage (a simple cuboid), a cockpit (a sloping cuboid) and a gun carriage with two turbolasers cannons and a missile launcher. According to Wedge Antilles (who was captured and taken to Kessel) "the food is good, but the service is lousy". Basilisk The Basilisk is a ship seen in the second Knights of the Old Republic game and "Tales of the Jedi" comic book series. In Knights of the Old Republic 2, the Exile used it to land on Onderon during the Battle for Onderon. The pilot rides on the droid's back, wearing a spacesuit. However, in Knights of the Old Republic, a completely different class of Basilisk is used, which is based heavily on the Star Viper/Virago from Shadows of the Empire. In addition, another ship called the Basilisk was one of Admiral Daala's four Star Destroyers; it was destroyed in the novel Dark Apprentice. Bulk Cruiser The Bulk Cruiser is a ship used by the Old Republic in the Clone Wars and even before that. This ship is small, very powerful, easy to maintain, and all things considered not very fulfilling of its name. Han Solo refers to their use by the Empire in Episode IV. It is also used by the Rebel Alliance. Coruscant Fire-ship The Fire-ship (Firespeeder, Coruscant emergency ship) is a special atmospheric speeder used for putting out fires on Coruscant. They were designed to carry large amounts of water and douse flaming ships. These ships were deployed during the Battle of Coruscant to douse the flames of the burning Invisible Hand, piloted to a crash-landing by Anakin Skywalker. Dkee-class Landing Ship The D'kee-class Landing Ship was used by the Ssi-Ruuvi Imperium during its invasion of Bakura in the Expanded Universe novel The Truce at Bakura. They are used to transport troops to immobilized enemy targets or into dropzones. It is also equipped with paralysis canisters which are dropped over a major population area from 3,000 metres above. They can cover an area of nearly 9 square kilometres thus crushing most resistance. Fanblade Starfighter The Fanblade Starfighter is based on Geonosian air patrol skimmers (Ginevx-class starfighters) which are also called "fanblades" for their distinctive and very vital feature, a fan like wing going all around from the top to bottom vertically. The fan deploys for combat mode, stretched in a half circle along a pair of boom arms. Atop each arm is a double laser cannon that when deployed into combat mode swings into place. When the arms are shut, the cannons will only point forward due to a limited hinge joint that locks them into place. When in combat mode, the cannons have limited movement. Combat mode is not the only mode for the "fanblade". The downside to the combat mode with its fan extended is that with the fan's exotic material, it also serves as a transmission plane for deflector shield energy. However, that is the problem: the shield energy makes it stick out on sensors. With the fan folded in, it is very difficult to target. To make it even harder to target, ion bafflers are installed in sublight engines. The fan also is similar to the one on Dooku's solar sailer, acting as an alternate form of propulsion, not that it matters, as the fanblade is fitted with hyperdrives for hyperspace travel, in addition to its standard sublight engines. The Fanblade starfighter can be seen in the Clone Wars micro series. Flash Speeder

Ginevx-class starfighter See Fanblade Starfighter HAG (Heavy Artillery Gun) The Trade Federation's Heavy Artillery Gun or Mortar Tank as they are more commonly known within the ranks of the Republic military are an upgraded version of the AAT, or Armoured Assault Tank. As well as an armour upgrade, they also are refitted to fire mortars. HAGs were used in the earlier stages of the Clone Wars to bombard the enemy with a full load of 120 mortars. They met their match in the AT-XT, which although was not an artillery unit could make short work of them. However, the HAG was capable of destroying almost any other Republic armour unit. They were present at the Battle of Naboo and were firing on the Naboo Outpost and their turrets, but they were destroyed one by one by Rhys Dallows, Nym, Vana Sage, Reti and Jenkins. But before the AT-XT was deployed, it was a dangerous foe to ground-based stationary enemies and outposts. This vehicle appeared in Star Wars: The Clone Wars the video game. It is considered Star Wars canon, as it only appeared in the video games, and the games count as continuity. Hapan Battle Dragon The Hapan Battle Dragons are saucer-shaped starships used by the Hapes Cluster. They are about 500 metres long and are heavily armed with nearly 100 gun emplacements. A Hapan Battle Dragon consists of two saucers joined in the middle and manipulated by means of saucer rotation struts. Ion cannons were mounted along the edge of the top disk, set on a type of rotating chain. As each cannon fired, it rotated along the saucer rim, the next cannon in line swung into place, ready to fire. This configuration proved to be superior to a standard turbo laser battery due to the speed at which the guns circled the saucer. While each individual cannon spends approximately 90% of its combat time idle while it charges its capacitors, no gun is stationary, the net result was a sustained barrage of ion cannon blasts. The Hapans used this to disable the shields of another capital ship, such as an Imperial-class Star Destroyer, and then fired salvos of proton torpedoes from the Dragon's 10 launchers. This was found to be extremely effective, especially when the Hapans attacked with multiple Battle Dragons, as witnessed during the battle over Dathomir. Unique amongst their weaponry were pulse mass mines distributed by means of pulse mass generator tubes exerting an effect similar in nature to gravity well projectors and dovin basals that stimulate a "mass shadow" that prevents ships from jumping into hyperspace. Battle Dragons also carried three squadrens of Miy'tils, and were deployed as a fighter screen to prevent heavy bombers penetrating the ion cannon defense. Happy Dagger The Happy Dagger Is from the Expanded Universe book Agents of Chaos and was a ship owned by Roa, the man who first involved Han in the smuggling business. It is heavily laid with rare artifacts and art. It is a SoroSuub Class 3000 Luxury Yacht, the same as used by Lando Calrissian. Lando's is called the Lady Luck, and is geared slightly more towards fighting than the Happy Dagger. Hornet Interceptor The Hornet Interceptor is a starship frequently used by smugglers, pirates and other fringe groups. Named for its insectoid appearance, Hornets were cheap, yet capable starfighters. Unfortunately the fighters were vulnerable in atmosphere due to their poor aerodynamics. Administrator Doole, the Ribet responsible for the prison uprisal on Kessel, acquired several of these fighters as part of the planet's defense fleet, and some were responsible for shooting down the Millennium Falcon. However, almost all of them were destroyed when Admiral Daala's Imperial fleet attacked the world, thinking that it was a Rebel Base. When the Peace Brigade faction aligned with the Yuuzhan Vong, they also procurred several Hornets, in the mistaken belief that the ships vaguely organic appearance would impress the Yuuzhan Vong, who themselves hated machinery and embraced living technology. Ithullan Ore Hauler The Ithullan Ore Hauler was a kilometre long vessel used by the Nessies to transport mutonium ore. The Nessies are a humanoid race that inhabite the Stenness Node Systems which was a valuable mining region. It is an unusual vehicle because it is made from the carapaces of the kilometre-long Ithullan wasps. These wasps were huge and abundant and as a result many of them are hunted by poachers. Once an Ithullan wasp dies, its body is converted into an ore hauler. The cockpit is located in its head while its thorax is fitted with stores for the precious mutonium ore. The abdomen is fitted with additional stores and engines. Their shells are strong enough to repel blaster bolts. Their main weapon is a pair of heavy turbolasers mounted in the forward section of the wasp. They were in use thousands of years before the rise of Palpatine's empire. Jadthu Assault Shuttle The Jad'thu assault shuttle is a light attack shuttle. Like the CR-20 and the CR-25, it is used for other purposes that were modified. It can only carry 60 troopers but it's useful. This shuttle is a former luxury shuttle. It is seen in the Expanded Universe book Shatter Point. Its armament is one flak gun shooting out durasteel shards for protectional purposes. In the book it was very useful against ground forces; it also has one turbolaser for anti-fighter purposes. Lwhekk-class Manufacturing Ship The Lwhekk-class Manufacturing Ship is a Ssi-Ruuk vessel used to manufacture Swarm-class Battle Droids during battle. Its hangars also carried 1,000 Swarm Battle Droids Matalok Command Cruiser The Matalok Command Cruiser are large bioships commonly found in the Yuuzhan Vong warfleet. They are use to command the Yuuzhan Vong attack forces. They resemble the Mon Calamari Cruisers from a distance and are heavily armed and shielded. A Yammosk can also be fitted into the ship. Medium Transport-class Assault Transport The Medium Transport is a vehicle that first made its onscreen appearance in The Empire Strikes Back. It also appeared in the video game Star Wars Rebellion. In the game, the transport could carry two regiments of troops. They were the Rebel Alliance's only transport that was armed and was regular, unlike sympathizers freighters. NR-N99 Tank Droid The NR-N99 Tank droid, or Snail droid, was a droid designed and produced by the Corporate Alliance, to defend themselves. When they joined the Separatists, their immense armies of tank droids were added to the massive droid army of the separatists. The tank droid is a strong vehicle armed with two laser cannons on its sides. The tank droids move themselves with enormous tracks, which are not only effective for movement, but also in crushing the enemy. Its two red eyes make the droid look like a snail even more. In the battle of Kashyyyk, the tank droids were used as quick transports by the battle droids. Although the tank droids were highly effective in battle, several wookiee commandos were able to blow some tank droids up by sticking time bombs to their sides. Rebel Gun Sled (The name is not official, as this vehicle has never been officially named.) Each of these Gun sleds is mounted with an anti-personnel cannon and used to protect the hangars of Echo Base. One of these units was briefly seen in the left corner of the screen when Han Solo rode into a hangar at the beginning of Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back. In addition, a cut-scene showed Luke Skywalker using a sled of this type to fight off Wampas. Rebel Hover Sled The Hover Sled is a Rebel troop carrier. White repulsor-craft seen in the background in Echo Base and the main hangar of Home One. Was enclosed on all sides, but without a roof. Could carry passengers and cargo. During the evacuation of Echo Base, Rebel transport ships were loaded up with these troop carriers, and all fighter escorts were told to wait until each transport was filled up before taking off. A hover sled brought the Rebel strike force to their shuttle before the Battle of Endor. Rebel Personnel Carrier The Rebel Personnel Carrier is an open-air repulsor-craft used to carry personnel and some amounts of cargo around Rebel bases. The driver stood at the front of the vehicle, fully exposed, and all passengers sat on each side of the main platform, so this was not a vehicle meant for combat situations. When the Millennium Falcon reached the secret base at Yavin IV, two of these carriers brought the crew and passengers inside the main hangar. Republic Security Force Gunship Republic Security Force Gunships are armed with two laser canons and can hold a squad of Republic security guards. A gunship was used against Jango Fett after he killed Senator Trell, but it was blasted out of the sky. It was seen in Star Wars: Bounty Hunter, the video game. Scarab Starfighter The Scarab was an experimental concept by the Trade Federation. It began its life as a prototype that became widely accepted even before the Clone Wars, and acted as a forerunner in design to the more deadly Droid Starfighter deployed in the Invasion of Naboo. The Scarab performed quite well in combat testing and was introduced to the Trade Federation starfighter forces only months after the first prototypes rolled off the assembly lines. It was armed with 4 laser cannons, the same as the Droid Starfighter, but to save production costs the energy torpedo launchers were deleted. Like the Droid Starfighter it could open and close its wings to disguise its combat nature until the last minute. As on almost any craft, the shields reduced manoeuvrability and so the craft was not as agile as the Droid Starfighter was. It did gain one large advantage: instead of the solid fuel slugs used in its contemporary, the Scarab used conventional ion engines, giving more or less unlimited flight time. Shner-class Planetary Assault Carrier The Sh'ner-class Planetary Assault Carrieris important to the Ssi-Ruuvi Imperium fleet as they carry Swarm-class Battle Droids and D'kee class Landing ships used in invasions and space battles. It is weak in armour and armament and is 750 metres long. Its weapons are 6 ion cannons and 2 tractor beam projectors. The carrier also has 12 launching bays for the D'kee-class Landing Ships with 12 landing bays used for capturing enemy vessels. The carrier is also equipped with 12 entechment labs to drain prisoners of their life energies and giant batteries to store these energies. The crew consists of 60 Ssi-Ruuk who make up the command crew along with about 500 P'w'ecks which are slaves and 300 droids. Because of the large number of P'w'ecks, their Ssi-Ruuvi masters make sure that stun traps are planted in every corridor and room to ensure obedience. These stun traps can cause terrible pain to the P'w'ecks, and can kill humans. Every P'w'eck also has a neural inhibitor implanted into them. The carrier can carry 12 D'kee-class landing ships which can transport troops. Sibwarra The Sibwarra is the Ssi-Ruuk cruiser that was captured by Luke Skywalker and the first prospective Jedi student he ever met, Dev Sibwarra. Slave (Firespray)-Class Starship Slave Class Starships were used by the Oovo IV prison security forces. There were only six of its kind, and Jango Fett and Zam Wessell stole Slave 1 from the Oovo IV hangar and destroyed the hangar, along with the other Slaves, making Slave 1 the only one of its kind. StarSpeeder 3000 The StarSpeeder 3000 is a tourist spacecraft in the fictional Star Wars universe. Holding 40 beings in comfort and (relative) safety, it can travel throughout the galaxy at light speed. The StarSpeeder 3000 is fully automated and piloted by a pair of droids, a pilot RX droid and an astromech droid navigator. The StarSpeeder 3000 has traveled to Hoth, Tatooine, and the Forest moon of Endor, making it an exceptionally versatile craft. The StarSpeeder 3000 was created for the Star Tours attraction at numerous Disney theme parks. Sunsailor Sunsailor is the ship that Count Dooku took to the planet Coruscant to meet his master Darth Sidious. Tachyon Flyer The Tachyon Flyer is a ship found on Myrkr which was stolen by The Dark Jedi Welk and Lomi Plo. It was an escape ship for a Jedi strike team on Myrkr during the Yuuzhan Vong War. The Dark Jedi crashed the Tachyon Flyer in the Unknown Regions. Techno Union Starship The Techno Union Starship is a capital ship used by both the Techno Union and the Intergalactic Banking Clan. It first appeared during the Battle of Geonosis (in Attack of the Clones) where many of its kind had their fuel-cells taken out by Republic LAAT gunships, thus preventing them from escaping. Before the Battle of Geonosis, there were 286 of the starships on Geonosis but only 169 escaped to space. It was designated as the "Hardcell Class" transport starship, was 220 metres long, and was shaped like a rocket. It was used to deploy hailfire droids and later the Intergalactic Banking Clan's own battle droids, the IG lancers. The ship had a conical nose housing quarters for the organic crew, command decks and medical decks. It had six primary thruster units around its base that were capable of providing a fast take-off speed of 4,000 km/h. Telos Shuttle The Telos Shuttle was a vehicle used during the recovery project at Telos. It is seen in the game Knights of the Old Republic II, where the player is forced to use the shuttle in order to locate the Ebon Hawk, which and been stolen by the Handmaiden. The shuttle is shot down by a Czerka AA turret and the Jedi Exile then used Bao-Dur's help to find another shuttle in the Old Telos Military base. The Exile flew to the polar region of Telos, where the shuttle was once again shot down, this time by an HK-50 unit. The shuttle is commonly used to transport restorers from the Citadel Station to the surface of Telos. One such Telos Shuttle was used to transport the Jedi Exile to The Ravager, when it arrived on Telos. The Shuttle lacks hyperdrive capabilities, restricting it to planetary journeys. It also bears resemblance to the much later developed Lambda-class Shuttle. Teljkon Vagabond The Teljkon Vagabond was a ghostship known for constant jumps into hyperspace. It was witnessed for the second time in the Teljkon System, thus giving it its name. It sometimes fired at approaching vessels and then jumped to lightspeed. Lando Calrissian and others boarded the ship and discovered that the ship was built by the Qellan people. Luke Skywalker discovered how to use the ship to thaw out the planet Maltha Obex (formerly Qella) and return the planet to life. Trade Federation PAC The Trade Federation PAC were used by the Trade Federation to carry battle droids. It can carry 112 battle droids folded into their space-saving configuration. It is piloted by two battle droid pilots. These transports first appeared in The Phantom Menace where they carried entire platoons of battle droids. Tsmeu-6 Personal Wheel Bike The Tsmeu-6 Personal Wheel Bike is a vehicle seen in Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith. A Separatist ground craft resembling a giant wheel, with four clawed legs hanging from the sides. It could roll on the ground at great speed, crushing enemy soldiers in its path. The legs were engaged whenever the craft needed to climb steep cliffs, especially useful on the sinkhole-filled planet of Utapau. The driver was positioned in a seat on one side of the wheel, while a twin-barreled cannon occupied the other side. The wheel bike was based on technologies created for the hoop-wheeled hailfire droids used by the CIS and Designed by Z-Gomot Ternbuell Guppat Corporation in the Zug system. The Tsmeu-6 gets its stability from the gyroscopic effect produced by the massive counterspinning internal chains that drive the wheel. The chain-links feature built-in capacitors that store reserve energy to power the legs and the double blaster assembly that sits opposite the control chair. General Grievous used a wheel bike while being pursued by Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi who rode on the Utapaun varactyl, Boga. Obi-Wan attempted to wrest control of the wheel bike from Grievous, but they were both knocked out of the spinning vehicle moments before it tumbled into one of the great sinkholes lining Utapau's surface. Jann Tosh used a later model of the bike in the Star Wars: Droids animated series. TX-130S Fighter Tank Considered by many to be the Jedi Starfighter of ground combat because of its outstanding speed and manoeuvrability, the TX-130 fighter tank was the second of the Republic’s main two ground assault vehicles in the early years of the Clone Wars, the other being the AT-TE. Like almost every other military ground and atmospheric vehicle used by the Republic in the Clone Wars it was produced by Rothana Heavy Engineering. Like the AT-XT, it was also sometimes commandeered by Jedi doing solo missions for the Republic, who often installed an R2 astromech droid where the exterior gunner would be and had no light blaster cannons on top of their customized craft. This was called the S version, or solo version. Like most of the Republic’s other ground assault craft it was transported into battle by a LAAT/c cargo gunship. The shields were state-of-the-art Exo-Shell 3 types, the first ever installed in a ground vehicle, which were, for prototypes, very powerful and they didn’t compromise speed, agility or weapons power. However, they did have a weakness: while the shields were recharging they did not provide even light protection for the craft, which then had to rely on hull plating. The computer-guided Thermal detonator missiles, though not nearly as powerful as the tanksmasher rockets used by the IGBC (InterGalactic Banking Clan) Hailfire droid, were still adequately powerful enough to deal with most opposition and could easily destroy a dwarf spider droid. The missiles could be replaced with other types of ammunition, such as concussion missiles, and the bays themselves could be replaced with things like grenade launchers. TX-130T Fighter Tank The TX-130T Fighter Tank is an upgraded version of the TX-130S (see above), used by the Galactic Empire. It is very similar in appearance to the TX-130S, aside from its color scheme, which is drab grey instead of the TX-130S's bright red and white. TX-203 Advanced Scout Tank During the rise of the Galactic Empire, the need for a tank with more firepower and more cargo/crew capacity than the existing TX-130T resulted in the TX-203. Often deployed for longer durations than the fighter tank, the TX-203 was used primarily in the search for rebel occupation in the outer rim territories. The newly formed Rebel legion did not have the resources to heavily fortify the entry points to their bases, so they relied on camouflaged entrances to hide their location. As soon as the recon squad would locate the hidden entrance, the TX-203 would assault the entry point with its side mounted turbo-lasers, often sealing the rebels in their base. The squad would then call in heavy reinforcements, which included modified mining equipment and seismic tanks to finish the attack. Wurif-class Light Cruiser The Wurif-class Light Cruiser are the midrange ships of the Ssi-Ruuk and like the Shree-class Battle Cruiser, carry 250 Swarm-class Battle Droids and are heavily armed. Yodas Escape Pod Yoda's escape pod was a modified escape pod that Yoda used to go to Dagobah. Within a year on Dagobah, the planet's conditions caused the pod to malfunction. Yoda salvaged whatever he could get from the pod, and used parts of it as pieces of his small hut. | |||||||||||
