"Milkshake" is a pop/R&B song written by American written and produced by The Neptunes for singer Kelis's 2003 third studio album Tasty. The song was released as the album's first single in winter 2004. It reached the top ten in the United Kingdom, Australia, and the Netherlands. In the United States, "Milkshake" became Kelis's biggest success to date on ''Billboard'' Hot 100, eventually peaking at In the UK, "Milkshake" has also become the biggest hit of Kelis' career, staying at The overt sexual nature of the song has spawned many parodies, while the original song was played on the following comedy films: Mean Girls (2004), Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story (2004), and Date Movie (2006). In 2006, CKE Restaurants used an edited version of the song during commercials for Hardee's and Carl's Jr. milkshakes. One version, called "Cow Shake Off" features two men shaking two cows as though dancing to the music.
