Métis Transit Limited was a privately run public transit provider in Caledon, Ontario. Established in 2001 out of Caledon, Ontario, the service billed itself as the only aboriginal run transit service in Canada. It employed both aboriginal, (Métis) and non-Aboriginal drivers and staff. It operated without funding from the town, region, province or federal Governments. Operations were suspended in January 2006 and as of October 2006, remain suspended.
Fares Cash - $2.00 Valid Transfer 1 Token/Ticket Tokens/Tickets - 5 for $9, 10 for $18 Weekly Passes: (all the rides you want in a week) Adults $20.00, Students $18.00, Seniors $18.00, Children $16.00 Premium Express Routes (Route 916) Cash - $4.00 Valid Transfer + $1.00 2 Tokens/Tickets Tokens/Tickets - 5 for $9, 10 for $18 Premium Weekly Passes:(all the rides you want in a week)(Passes were valid for both regular and premium routes) Adults $30.00, Students $28.00, Seniors $28.00, Children $26.00 These were available for purchase at sales agents located in Caledon East, and Bolton. Routes Métis Transit operated on three routes: Mail in request for stops at residence were available. The system was planned to eventually connect with Brampton Transit, Mississauga Transit, York Region Transit and Toronto Transit Commission. Operations Service on route 3-Caledon East Monday to Friday from 7 -10 am and 2 -7pm. Service on route 80-Bolton 7 days a week. Monday to Friday from 6 am to 10pm, Saturdays from 9am to 6pm, and Sunday and Holdidays from 11 am to 6pm. Fleet | ||||||||
