A video game mascot is usually a specific video game character that is a trademark of a video game company brand and is actively used to promote the company or its products, a symbol of the company, as a "face" or representative in promotional materials. Usually, mascots are from platform games, but there are many exceptions. They may not even actually appear in any games. Possibly the most well-known mascot is the Nintendo character Mario.
