Lincoln Public Schools is the only public school district in Lincoln, Nebraska, USA. It is the second largest of Nebraska's 596 school districts, surprassed only by Omaha Public Schools. LPS educates more than 32,100 students in 54 schools. The current superintendent is E. Susan Gourley, Ph.D, who took over from retiring Phil Schoo at the beginning of the 2004-05 school year.
