Lake Poyang (), located in Jiangxi Province, is the largest freshwater lake in China. It has a surface area of 3,585 km² and a volume of 25 km³. Its average depth is 8 meters.
The lake provides habitat for many migratory birds, and is a favorite destination for birding.

During the winter, the lake becomes the home of White Cranes.

There is now a ban on fishing, which is very popular in China.
