KXVO Channel 15 is the The CW affiliated television station in Omaha, Nebraska. Its schedule has WB and Fox Kids programs as well as reruns of The Simpsons, That '70s Show, Malcolm in the Middle, Smallville, Stargate SG-1, King of the Hill, and other shows.
Early in 2006, the station began airing a ten o'clock newscast, KXVO15 10:00pm News which is produced by KPTM, the Omaha Fox affiliate. In April of the same year former MTV VJ and reality show host Brian McFayden was hired to host the program. Upon his arrival, the format of the show had evolved into a sort of McFayden-ego-fest variety show, featuring a two minute bit at the beginning of the show in which McFayden and his cameraman, local semi-celebrity Joseph Buda, stage humorous misadventures. In June of the same year, McFayden left the show to explore other options in his career, amid rumors that his hiring was unable to save the newscast's low ratings, besides the fact that no one wanted to work with him. In late August, 2006, Comedian Matt Geiler was named the new host of the KXVO 15 10:00pm News.
KXVO went on the air in 1995. Both KXVO and KPTM are owned and operated by Pappas Telecasting Companies. Its transmitter is located in Gretna, Nebraska.
