    KPN (in full Koninklijke KPN N.V., Royal KPN NV) () is a Dutch fixed-line and mobile telecommunications company, including both 2G and 3G mobile operations. The company was formerly called Koninklijke PTT Nederland, and before that Staatsbedrijf der Posterijen, Telegrafie en Telefonie (State Company of Post, Telegraphy and Telephony), or PTT. Before the spinoff of TPG, the company also controlled the national Dutch post. The company is based in The Hague.

    As of 2004, KPN is active in the Dutch, German, and Belgian telecommunication markets. In the Netherlands, KPN is the owner of the fixed telephone network and is the market leader in mobile telecommunications, with the brands KPN, Telfort and Hi. On the Internet market, KPN is owner of the internet service providers XS4ALL, Planet Internet, Het Net, Freeler, Speedlinq, Demon Netherlands and HCCNet. They've bought the Dutch subsidiary of Tiscali in September 2006.

    In 2004, KPN also started offering television in the Netherlands as part of its multi-play services.* (Dutch)

    In Germany, KPN is, with daughter company E-Plus, the third player on the mobile telephony market. In Belgium, the KPN subsidiary BASE is the third supplier of mobile telephony.
