London E19 In April 2005, a local businessman started a campaign to have IG1 postcodes changed to London E19, on the pretext that IG1 is not recognised as a London postcode. He argued that so doing would help local businesses. A Royal Mail spokesman, however, said campaigners in Ilford had "virtually no hope" of changing their postcode. *. This move has the opposite motives to a group in London SE2 who wish to have their postcode changed to adjacent DA7 citing higher insurance for their houses, belongings and cars as reason to change.
