HUSS Maschinenfabrik or HUSS Rides was a German-based amusement ride manufacturing company. They were one of the largest, and most popular amusement ride manufacturer in the world. HUSS was founded in Bremen, Germany, in 1919. The company originally manufactured equipment for ships, but diversified out into the production of amusement rides in 1969. As of 2006, this was the sole business of the company. HUSS filed for bankruptcy in late July 2006, due to credit issues. Ride manufacture was shut down until the company emerged from Chapter 11 bankruptcy in September 2006, when the company was renamed HUSS Park Attractions. During this time the company's parts division continued to operate. HUSS Park Attractions, under the guidance of its new investors, intends to continue sales of its classic park rides, while expanding to produce family attractions and movie base simulators. HUSS Gepgyar Kft, the Hungarian production plant, will continue in its current form.
