The seventeenth Royal Navy 'ship' to be named HMS Dolphin. Sited at Fort Blockhouse in Gosport, it is the spiritual home of the Royal Navy's submarine service, and was a submarine base until 1994 and the Royal Naval Submarine School until 1999 when this moved to HMS Raleigh. The Royal Navy Submarine Museum is still sited nearby.
