Guo Bingwen (or Ping-Wen Kuo) (郭秉文) (1879-1969), modern educator. He is accepted as the Father of the Chinese Modern University. He founded the first modern Chinese University (the National Southeastern University which renamed National Central University in 1928 and Nanjing University in 1949) and his influence was extended to the China-wide education circle.
Ping-Wen Kuo was elected for three times as the vice Chairman of the World Education Congress(世界教育會) and the Chairman of Asian division since 1923.
