'''Fredrik Lindström''' (born june 27, 1963 in Eskilstuna, Södermanland County) is a Swedish linguist, comedian, film director and presenter. Lindström has in the 2000's become a household name in Sweden through his documentary TV-series about the Swedish language on Sveriges Television. The series have reached top ratings much due to Lindströms easily accessible and entertaining ways to deal with the information presented to viewers. Lindström has written several books as basis for the series. They have the same kind of approach, further on he comes from a theoretical background and have done some research in linguistics. Lindströms first encounter with the Swedish audience was in the radio show Hassan where he did prank calls to random people pretending to be different imaginary people; often with some kind of subtle disturbance that made the conversation to be somewhat of a farse, in a funny way. The show was aired on P3 during several seasons in the early to mid 1990's. A few years later after various smaller appearances, as a stand-up comedian among other things, he directed two Swedish featured films that were in the comedy/drama genre with many, in Sweden, well known actors, eg. Mikael Persbrandt, Magnus Härenstam, etc. In 2006 he is working on his third series about the Swedish language that is planned to air in the winter.
