Faraway, So Close! is the English title of In weiter Ferne, so nah!, a 1993 film by German director Wim Wenders, which he also co-wrote with Richard Reitinger and Ulrich Zieger. It is a sequel to Der Himmel über Berlin (Wings of Desire) with which it shared lead actors Otto Sander and Bruno Ganz. The film won the Grand Prix du Jury and was nominated for the Palme d'or at the 1993 Cannes Film Festival.
Former Soviet leader Mikhail Gorbachev appears as himself in the film, as does actor Peter Falk. Famous German actor Heinz Rühmann has his last appearance in this movie. Nastassja Kinski also has a role. The singer Lou Reed has a cameo appearance.

U2's song Stay (Faraway, So Close!) from 1993's Zooropa is based upon the film's idea of angels wanting to live on earth.
