Eve's Bayou is a 1997 drama film written and directed by Kasi Lemmons who made her directorial debut with this feature. Samuel L. Jackson not only starred in the film, but was also a producer. The film was rated R by the MPAA Tagline: The secrets that hold us together can also tear us apart.
Plot The story is centered around the Batiste family in 1962 Louisiana. The father of family is a charismatic doctor named Louis. Louis is married to Roz but still has an unwavering desire toward attractive female patients of his and has a philandering nature. His sexual encounter with married woman Matty is caught by his young daughter Eve who is pained by what she sees...and tells her sister.
