Deer Park is a city in Hamilton County, Ohio, United States. The population was 5,982 at the 2000 census.
Geography
Demographics As of the census of 2000, there were 5,982 people, 2,634 households, and 1,496 families residing in the city. The population density was 2,685.7/km² (6,979.0/mi²). There were 2,723 housing units at an average density of 1,222.5/km² (3,176.8/mi²). The racial makeup of the city was 96.52% White, 1.69% African American, 0.18% Native American, 0.69% Asian, 0.22% from other races, and 0.70% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.67% of the population. There were 2,634 households out of which 25.7% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 43.0% were married couples living together, 9.8% had a female householder with no husband present, and 43.2% were non-families. 39.1% of all households were made up of individuals and 16.5% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.18 and the average family size was 2.94. In the city the population was spread out with 21.8% under the age of 18, 6.3% from 18 to 24, 32.7% from 25 to 44, 18.9% from 45 to 64, and 20.3% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 38 years. For every 100 females there were 86.1 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 79.8 males. The median income for a household in the city was $39,692, and the median income for a family was $45,585. Males had a median income of $36,753 versus $28,706 for females. The per capita income for the city was $22,274. About 3.7% of families and 5.3% of the population were below the poverty line, including 4.8% of those under age 18 and 10.8% of those age 65 or over.
