    The deepwater stringray, Plesiobatis daviesi, is a species of ray, the only species in the genus Plesiobatis and family Plesiobatidae.

    It is native to the Indian and western Pacific Oceans, from South Africa to Japan and Australia. It inhabits the bottoms of muddy and sandy continental slopes, where it eats small fish, crustaceans, cephalopods, and polychaetes
    It grows to 2.7 m in diameter.
