Bureaucrash is a global organization of activists who promote the ideals of liberty and free market capitalism. Bureaucrash fights an ideological battle against government control over people's lives through its web-site, and global demonstrations.
About Bureaucrash Bureaucrash is under the umbrella of the Competitive Enterprise Institute and describes their project as: "an international network of activists of all political persuasions who believe that bloated, sprawling governments and the bureaucrats and politicians who control them ought to be mocked." http://www.cei.org/pages/projects.cfm Bureaucrash is an organization of individuals dedicated to fighting against the increase of government control on their lives. The international organization of activists works to change the political ideology of the current generation through "creative activism." This "creative activism" involves the use of memes, and demonstrating against other protesters. Bureaucrash believes that "when governments grow, our freedom to live our lives as we see fit shrinks." In order to combat the size of the government, they do not encourage people to vote or lobby politicians. Rather they believe that spreading information to the general public is the most effective tool against bureaucrats. The primary ideals of the organization are that The previously mentioned memes are complex ideas summed up with slogans, images, and quick statistics. These memes are spread with bits of text, shirts, flyers, e-cards, and web-sites. The main operational goals of the Bureaucrash Foundation are stated as Alvan Rosenberg is the chairman, president, and principal benefactor of the Bureaucrash Foundation. JA$ON, known as "Crasher-in-Chief" is in charge of the operations of the Bureaucrash Activist Network. According to the Bureaucrash Foundation web-site, the crashers (the name for their activists) are the real people who make the organization work. History Bureaucrash originally started when a group of individuals with similar ideas were brought together by the now defunct Henry Hazlitt Foundation. Alvan Rosenberg and Crasher Ryan originally devised the Bureaucrash concept and Ryan served as its first "Crasher-In-Chief." He got the group started, and achieved their first success with the "Are Your Politics Hurting You" campaign. The current Crasher-In-Chief, JA$ON, got started with pro-freedom activism in his hometown, when a local ordinance in 2002 required all bars to close their doors at 2 A.M. Because he lived in a college town, he used the opportunity to persuade college students to oppose big government. In 2001 JA$ON moved to Washington D.C., when he first met some of Bureaucrash's founders. JA$ON began volunteering to help them build websites and attended counter-protest activities. In 2002 he was officially hired as Crasher-in-Chief of Bureaucrash. Bureaucrash's real initial successes were the result of their various counter-protests, and they combine this technique with viral-marketing to spread their message of limited government and personal responsibility. Operations Bureaucrash conducts a-lot of activities through its web-site, however, throughout the organization's history it has held various live demonstrations. After returning from the lunch break, crashers decided to blow their own cover and handed out "Anti-Globalization" pop quizzes. Two activists subsequently snuck into the delegates room, and passed out "You've Been Crashed" press release. Before packing up and leaving the convention, they altered the Nader sign hanging above the convention entrance to read, “Darth Nader 2004…you’ve been Crashed!” A link back to Bureaucrash.com was included.
