BOOM! Studios is a new independent comic book company. It was founded in June 2005 with Zombie Tales 1. The company was named Wizard Magazine's Best New Publisher of 2005.

Company History
BOOM! Studios was founded in 2005 by Ross Richie, who once worked at Malibu Comics and published titles for Atomeka Press. The company specializes in high profile projects from some of the industry's biggest names. The company focuses on various genres, such as the humor of Hero Squared, Planetary Brigade and What Were They Thinking, horror with Zombie Tales, Jenny Finn, and Giant Monster, and thrillers with 10.
BOOM! Studios received favorable attention from critics, earning 17 positive reviews from 17 websites for Zombie Tales. Since Zombie Tales, Boom! has managed to increase its comic titles to a large number for a fledgling company.

Publication
BOOM! Studios' books are often published in a prestige format, with no ads until the end of each issue. Many of their issues are deluxe format, with many short stories by several writers and artists. Their ads are from upcoming and existing comic books from the company only. Originally, the company shipped two books a month, and began branching out.
