Balloon Kid is a platforming game for the Game Boy released in October of 1990 in North America. It is a sequel to Balloon Fight.
Plot Unlike Balloon Fight, Balloon Kid is not an arcade-style game and has a plot. Balloon Kid stars Alice, a girl whose little brother had balloons tied to him, which caused him to float away, and Alice had to save him from tragedy. Gameplay Balloon Kid features gameplay similar to that of Balloon Fight, where Alice has two balloons that allow her to float into the air when the player pushes the A button. Alice must also avoid enemies that are attempting to pop her balloons. However, Balloon Kid plays very different otherwise. It is a sidescrolling platformer, and Alice has the ability to remove the balloons and walk on the ground. If both balloons are popped or removed, if she lands safely, she can reinflate them. Balloon Fight GB A colorized remake of this game called Balloon Fight GB was released only in Japan in 2000. The only difference besides being colorized, is that players are allowed to pick any stage they want after they completed them. Hello Kitty World Hello Kitty World was the Famicom version of Balloon Kid. The only notable changes to the game were Alice being replaced with Hello Kitty and the updated/changed visuals.
