Advance is a town in Boone County, Indiana, United States. The population was 562 at the 2000 census.
Geography Advance is located at (39.996577, -86.619289). According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 1.6 km² (0.6 mi²), all land. Demographics As of the census of 2000, there were 562 people, 183 households, and 150 families residing in the town. The population density was 344.4/km² (898.7/mi²). There were 190 housing units at an average density of 116.4/km² (303.8/mi²). The racial makeup of the town was 98.93% White, 0.89% Native American, 0.18% from other races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1.25% of the population. There were 183 households out of which 45.4% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 68.3% were married couples living together, 7.1% had a female householder with no husband present, and 17.5% were non-families. 13.7% of all households were made up of individuals and 2.2% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 3.07 and the average family size was 3.40. In the town the population was spread out with 33.5% under the age of 18, 6.9% from 18 to 24, 32.6% from 25 to 44, 20.1% from 45 to 64, and 6.9% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 32 years. For every 100 females there were 93.8 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 95.8 males. The median income for a household in the town was $45,000, and the median income for a family was $50,972. Males had a median income of $35,313 versus $21,500 for females. The per capita income for the town was $17,169.
