A Life Once Lost is a heavy Metalcore band formed in 1999 in a suburb of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. While the three original founding members are no longer in the band, ALOL has continued to make music and are currently signed to to Ferret Records. There has been some dispute about their genre, with some critics saying that they are a Deathcore band, and the band themselves describes their sound as "technical groove metal". In the past they have been on the Sounds of the Underground, along with playing on the second stage at Ozzfest. In early 2006 they headlined a tour with Cephalic Carnage, Through the Eyes of the Dead and labelmates, Scarlet.
The music on "A Great Artist" is heavily influenced by Meshuggah. So, music can be described like mathcore/mathmetal.
